About Riddy

I completed my Diploma in Therapeutic massage at Well Park College, Auckland in 2004,
Began working from my home clinic in Auckland as well as some major hotels. In 2006 I moved back to Nelson working from a luxury lodge in Tasman and at the Sunshine Health Centre in Richmond and city fitness gym Nelson. More recently I have been steadily working from my home based clinic in Appleby and my mobile service where i come to you.

I have completed my Reiki 1 and 2 Certificate from a very pure line of Reiki masters and am now able to also offer this to my clients.

I am continually updating and doing further study to increase my understanding and awareness of the human body and get the support from other practitoners to benefit those that come to me for treatments.

I have had a long interest in nature and the great outdoors. In my younger years i was very dedicated to the surf life saving movement and kayaking that involved a lot of training and dedication, similar to my practice now. I included massage as part of my training, before, during and after, and that’s where my interest in massage began, having experienced the benefits for myself.

I gained 4 gold medals kayaking, circumnavigated Tasmania solo in a sea kayak and completed the longest kayak race in the world (400km) 4 times. Receiving a massage at the end of a long days paddle was heaven!

Over the years I have also had my own personal journey with issues regarding my physical body, Sherman’s disease when younger, scoliosis, winging scapular, herniated discs, bouts of sciatica. So I’m no stranger to body aches and pains myself and have found massage to be a fantastic modality in the rehabilitation and maintenance of these issues.

In 1998 i was introduced to the Ishayas Ascension – a form of meditation based on praise, gratitude, love and compassion. I then studied this meditation for 2 years from 1999 in America, which was very transformative and helped in many areas of my life. With the mind in a state of presence and awareness, commonly referred to as “being in the moment”, stress releases and the body can heal itself that much easier. I bring this state of focused awareness to each client I work with.
